About Us

We are both longtime residents of the Philadelphia suburbs, having recently moved from Montgomery County to Bucks County. Dan works in Information Technology for a major Pharmaceutical company, while Laurie left a successful career in accounting to become a pastry chef and now also a stay-at-home Mom. She bakes for family and friends out of the house and maintains a baking blog called Confectionary Bliss.

We met on eHarmony in January of 2006 and went on our first date a few weeks later in Feburary, and quickly became inseparable. We got engaged about a year later and were married in October of 2008. Our family first expanded by four legs a few months later when we added our lovable but neurotic little Coton de Tulear, Macintosh, early in 2009. The blog tells the story of the roller coaster adventure we have lived since the end of 2009, when we first saw two lines on a pregnancy test, through finally welcoming home our rainbow baby, Milo Thomas, in July of 2012, and also the addition of Milo's little sister Nora Josephine in August 2015.

  1. Dear Dan & Laurie,

Thank you for posting this blog. Your story is very similar to mine (2 losses at 16w & 18w). You are very courageous to share your story with others. Your blog gives me hope.
